When walking into the North York Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Centre, you might double check to make sure you’re at the right place. The space looks more like a Beverly Hills spa than an oral & maxillofacial clinic. You can see how Dr. David Dara Yarmand’s design tastes, have been influenced by the 10 years he spent in Los Angeles. His goal was to create an ultra modern, minimalist design concept while maintaining a sense of serenity to put patients at ease. There’s a fine line between clean, modern design and a cold, sterile, environment. Dr. Yarmand and his design team have managed to achieve that balance.
The reception area is large and spacious with crisp lines and impressive lighting while the tranquil sounds of the water wall create a soothing effect. The hallways and operatories are flanked by frosted glass walls, which allow natural light to stream through out most of the office. The 8th floor view overlooks the surface streets and houses and gives the surprising appearance of lush greenery in this busy, urban neighborhood.
An ultra contemporary facility would be incomplete without the latest in state-of-the-art equipment, and there is no lack of that here, from the surgical lights to the fully digital radiography.
With the help of Dan Burns, of Sinclair Dental, Dr. Yarmand assembled a team to create his space from scratch. Claudia Heidary and Delphine Mauroit were entrusted with interior design and floor planning, with Dentrix Construction completing the team.
The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and Dr. Yarmand and his staff look forward to spending many years in their new environment.
