When Uxbridge Dental Care set out to build a new home for their practice, they weren’t just thinking about dental chairs and waiting rooms; they were envisioning a warm, welcoming, and modern space where patient care could thrive. To bring that vision to life, they partnered with Studio 6 Inc., a design-build firm known for its expertise in dental office construction and its reputation for transforming spaces into functional works of art. What emerged from this collaboration is a stunning, patient-focused facility in the heart of Uxbridge, Ontario—one that blends clinical precision with calming design, embodying the values of comfort, care, and innovation.

Designing with purpose

Studio 6 Inc. brought decades of experience to the table, and their team worked closely with the husband-and-wife team of Dr. Nemat and Lubna Nemat to fully understand the practice’s goals and patient experience priorities.

“We knew we wanted a space that reflected who we are as a family and, ultimately, as a dental team,” said Dr. Nemat. “Welcoming, efficient, and focused on the patient experience, but also with room to grow and adapt.”

The design process began with a deep dive into workflow and function. Studio 6 focused on optimizing the floor plan for both patients and staff and created a layout that allowed for smooth transitions between appointments, sterilization, and treatment areas. Every decision, from operatory placement to lighting, was intentional.

A modern aesthetic rooted in comfort

The final result is a beautiful harmony of sleek modernism and warm touches. Natural light floods the reception area, where neutral tones and soft textures create an immediate sense of calm. Glass partitions, clean lines, and thoughtful millwork lend the space a contemporary yet approachable feel.

“One of the key goals was to avoid the cold, clinical vibe often associated with medical environments,” said owner Paul Kuhlmeijer. “Instead, we chose finishes and design elements that make patients feel at ease the moment they walk through the door.”

Studio 6 also custom-designed cabinetry and storage solutions throughout the clinic to match both the aesthetic and operational needs of the practice. The attention to detail is evident, from the ergonomic operatories to the seamless integration of digital technology.

Built for the future

Beyond the beauty of the space lies its infrastructure, built to support the latest dental technologies and evolving treatment options. Studio 6 ensured that the clinic was outfitted with advanced electrical and mechanical systems to accommodate future upgrades without disruption.

“The team at Studio 6 made it possible for us to not only open a practice we’re proud of today but to invest in a future that’s just as promising,” Dr. Nemat explained.

A family-centred approach

At its core, Uxbridge Dental Care is a family practice, which is evident in the husband-and-wife team, as well as their son, Faris, who is expected to graduate from the University of Toronto with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2026, and work alongside them in the office.

The clinic welcomes patients of all ages, from toddlers to seniors. That sense of inclusivity is reflected not only in the services offered but in the atmosphere itself. From kid-friendly amenities to a compassionate team that takes time to listen and educate, every detail of the office was designed with families in mind.

“We’ve always believed that dental care should be accessible, comfortable, and personalized,” said Dr. Nemat. “Whether you’re coming in for your child’s first visit or seeking complex treatment as an adult, we want every patient to feel part of our extended dental family.”

Rooted in community

The new facility also represents a deeper investment in the Uxbridge community. By designing a welcoming and accessible space in the heart of town, Uxbridge Dental Care has reaffirmed its commitment to serving not just patients but neighbours, friends, and fellow families.

As part of the practice’s branding, Uxbridge Dental Care unveiled a logo that reflects its identity within the community they love, which paid homage to the Uxbridge train station that last served as a museum for the once-prominent York-Durham Heritage Railway.

Now open and thriving in its new home, Uxbridge Dental Care stands as a true example of what can be achieved when design and dentistry meet with intention. Through the skilled hands of Studio 6 Inc. and the passionate leadership of Dr. Nemat, the practice has created more than just a clinic—it has built a cornerstone for health, family, and community in Uxbridge.
