The University of Saskatchewan College of Dentistry has been selected to host the 2026 Canadian Oral Health Summit (COHS), bringing leaders in oral-health education, research and care to Saskatoon from June 18–20, 2026.
“This is a tremendous honour for our college and our university,” said Dr. Walter Siqueira, dean of the College of Dentistry. “The summit will be an opportunity to share ideas, strengthen partnerships, and collectively shape the future of oral health education and care.”
The summit is presented by the Association of Canadian Faculties of Dentistry (ACFD), the national voice for academic dentistry in Canada. Representing all 10 Canadian dental schools, the ACFD holds large, in-person conferences every two years, typically in June at one of its member institutions.

What to expect at COHS 2026
The summit will take place at the USask College of Dentistry in Saskatoon and will be guided by the theme “Advancing Interprofessional Oral Health Education, Research, and Care.” The program will highlight collaboration, innovation and future-focused approaches to oral health in Canada.
Participants can expect:
- Interprofessional learning and collaboration involving educators, researchers, clinicians and students across dentistry, dental hygiene, dental therapy, dental assisting and the broader health sciences.
- Research presentations and knowledge exchange showcasing emerging evidence and innovations
- Academic and clinical programming, including symposia, workshops and Lunch & Learn sessions
- Opportunities for new partnerships across institutions, disciplines and sectors
- A national forum for dialogue on issues shaping the future of oral health education and care
The theme also reflects the unique strengths of the USask College of Dentistry. USask is the only Canadian dental school to house four oral-health programs under one roof and the only university in the country with all health-science programs located on a single campus. This structure supports an integrated, interprofessional model spanning dentistry, dental hygiene, dental therapy, dental assisting and the broader health sciences.
Abstract submissions for the 2026 Canadian Oral Health Summit have now closed. Registration details are expected to be announced in the coming months.
